How to get a flat stomach for women? It’s a question I get all the time, so I’ve decided to write up a short post to answer this once and for all!
Now getting a flat stomach for a woman really isn’t all that different than getting a flat stomach for a man… But there are some key differences, so that is why I have decided to focus on the ladies today… I’ll talk about how guys can get a flat belly in a future post.
So what are the key elements for getting a tight, toned tummy?
Really it’s quite simple… You need to melt off any fat that has accumulated in the belly region, and you need to fix any belly bloat. (Belly bloat can cause even women with low body fat to have round bellies that poke out!)
So we’ll address these issues one at a time.
Flat Stomach For Women Tip #1 – Melt Off The Fat
Obviously if you have fat around your stomach region it’s going to be quite hard to have a flat stomach. The solution for this is to melt off the fat…
If getting a flat stomach has been a goal of yours for a while the you have probably read up a bit on this subject and have heard many of the theories on the best ways of accomplishing this. However, all “theories” aside, melting belly fat is as simple as adhering to these 3 rules:
- Don’t worry about doing lots of crunches – Training your abs is surprisingly not a big factor in getting a flat stomach! Once you get your body fat low, your abs will be visible regardless of how hard you train them. If you want a “bumpy” six pack of abs then you will need to hit them hard to make them grow, but if you just want a flat stomach this really is not necessary – So focus on other exercises in the gym that actually burn fat! (crunches hardly burn any calories at all)
- Rev up the cardio – Regardless to some of the “fad” exercise myths, cardio really is the best way to melt fat. Here’s the best part… You don’t need to do marathon cardio sessions! by using a mix of “steady state cardio” and high intensity interval training (HIIT) you can get a great cardio workout in just 45 minutes a day.
- Get on the right diet – If you are like most women then you are constantly “going on a diet”… The problem is that it’s never the “right diet” and you keep falling off it. I recently wrote about the fastest weight loss diet (which is cool because it really doesn’t seem like a diet, and therefore is EASY to stick with long term.)
Flat Stomach For Women Tip #2 – Cure The Bloat
Even a thin person can have a muffin-top if they are bloated and many folks both men and women walk around bloated all the time… Here are the tops foods you need to AVOID to lose the bloat and get a flat stomach:
- Salt – (cutting this alone can make a huge improvement)
- Excessive Starchy Carbs
- Carbonated Drinks
- Fried Foods
- Acidic Drinks – like alcohol and coffee
- Gassy Veggies – like broccoli, beans and cauliflower (good for you, but they can create SERIOUS gas!)
